Lidia Burca

My professional journey began with a passion for psychology back in high school. I set it aside for a while, but something inside me was dissatisfied with what I was offering people through the service I had at the time. That moment was an insight that showed me it was time to study psychology, which had once delighted me, in order to help, to become a “soul doctor.”

Initially, I didn’t know what path I would take. I aimed to guide myself based on how I felt with each step. If I felt excitement, joy, then it was the right step, and I could continue. If I felt doubt, then it wasn’t a good decision, and I stopped.

I embarked on this journey with determination, dedication, and joy because I somehow knew it was the right direction, even though it would be difficult and there would be obstacles along the way. And so it was.

Time passed, and I found myself facing my first client. I was happy, determined to be of assistance, but also fearful of overlooking something. This fear turned into a concern to be attentive to how I observed myself in relation to the client(s) and how I observed the client(s) in relation to me. And now it helps me to desire to develop new skills and to bring something new to therapies. I still believe it keeps me curious, eager to learn from experiences to grow, to supplement where necessary for myself and for the person in front of me.

I enjoy reading a book, being in peace, being in the presence of loved ones, being in nature and among flowers, connecting with my colleagues, being in harmony with myself to offer help from a balanced state.

The profession of psychotherapist comes with a transformative journey that shows me that I am a person who perceives themselves as strong but also powerless. It’s natural. The goal is personal development by encountering easy obstacles and sometimes more difficult ones that I must overcome. Overcoming them gives me a sense of satisfaction that I have brought something important to my soul and to others
